ABOUT

MISSION

TheBigbeat.FM is a commercial-free, non-profit 501(c)(3), streaming radio station whose mission is to raise funds in support of music education, including providing instruments. Our station is supported by the membership of our listeners. The funds raised through memberships will support the broadcasting fees associated with our station and contributions to our partners: Music For Young Minds Foundation and Save The Music Foundation.

VISION

It is fundamental to our mission that the students we support have access to the music and the form of broadcasting that we are working to keep alive. Therefore, the students we support are provided memberships free of charge, enabling exposure to rock music and all the genres that influenced it including blues, jazz, and more. The music is delivered by the hosts in a “free form” style; a lost method of music broadcasting that was foundational to fostering a variety of music genres on radio, including rock.

Phil started his career in broadcast engineering and radio production. During the 80’s the broadcast engineering field was shrinking, and he moved over to IT, where he spent the last 32 years building a successful vocation. With his IT skill set, he has volunteered to be TheBigBeat.FM President and Technical Director. Given his long-time love for radio, this is a great way for him to give back.

Steve Siebenaler
Board Treasurer

Steve's passion for music started at a young age in the '60s and '70s by playing a musical instrument and attending as many rock concerts as possible. While expanding his musical tastes into classical, blues, and jazz, Steve began his professional career in the engineering field, later transforming into information technology and cloud computing for large industrial and retail companies.

Volunteering for TheBigBeat.FM and supporting the mission of our common cause partners is a great way for Steve to serve a higher purpose to give back and help keep the Music Alive!
